My Comcast bill does not make sense…

billz.jpgSo about a month ago, being that my bill was getting close to $100 a month, I decided to up and cancel my cable from Comcast. I still however kept the internet service. When I went to cancel, the one lady told me that their would be a one-time service charge of about $15 (to install some sort of regulator) and my internet bill would go up a bit.

So I got my bill in the mail on Saturday and the whole thing is confusing as hell. I basically got all sorts of credits for my internet and former cable service (which should be canceled). In addition to this, I had 3 one-time charges… one for the cable regulator, and two very costly ones for “Home Network 6MB.” The first one is like $80.62 and the other is for $59.95. The total bill due to Comcast came to $24.95.

Does anyone know what these Home Network 6MB charges are for? Also, should I go to Comcast on Monday to fight it? I mean $25 isn’t a bad bill… I just don’t want to have to these charges come up again. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Man have I been busy (sorta)…

banana.jpgSo since my last update, I’ve been quite busy doing all sorts of semi-productive things to better myself on the internet world.

<- Pic of me being productive.

Over the past week, I’ve done alot of brainstorming and experimenting with new things. So far I have a few terrific ideas that I’ve been playing with for some of the sites that I currently run.

I want to do the following…. transform the former Vidspot.net site into a content creators paradise where I (and some good friends) can post their video works online. I feel this will give me a chance to do some of the random video stuff I did throughout my high school career.

Additionally, I’ve come up with some rather clever ideas for future episodes (and commercials) of Cooking With Geeks. The only problem is actually getting around to filming them. Penn College is on Spring Break all next week, so maybe my personal productivity will go up but the group activity (i.e. filming) will be at a complete halt.

Speaking of personal productivity…. I’ve been playing around with Ubuntu Linux. Why, you ask? I’m doing it as an effort to lessen the amount of lag I experience when actually editing video. I figure slapping Linux on an old PC of mine will help me stay focused (i.e. one comptuer for entertainment, and the other for podcasting and such). I’ll let you know how that all unfolds if and when I get the second episode up…. haha.

In other news, I’ve fallen in love w/ my new keyboard, and can’t stop eating easter candy. Speaking of Easter, I bought a whole ham today at Giant. Maybe it will be featured in my cooking show? I think I’m rambling… oh well. I best get going to bed. I may (or may not) have work tonight….. (thats another can of worms I’ll get to some other time). Until we meet again.

Oh yeah, post a comment people. I’m not doing this for my health…

New Keyboard

Out of necessity, (my left Control Key stopped working) I bought a new Apple super slim keyboard today. This bugger is so slim and tiny… I simply love it. I never thought I’d be blogging about a keyboard, but I just feel so comfortable typing on it, and its small form factor leaves all sorts of extra room on my desk. Apple has certainly done it again with this product. I just wish they would come out w/ a full size version of this thats wireless.

Maybe with the new keyboard, I’ll blog more? Only time will tell…

Yesterday…

Dilbert was spot on again. Check it out.

Your Favorite Holiday Sweet…

kidwithcandy.jpg

So earlier this morning, while nibbling on some malted milk eggs I came up with what I hope will be an incredible idea for an interactive blog post. I’m curious as to what everyones favorite holiday candy is. Is it jelly beans, candy corn, those valentines day hearts, candy canes, popcorn balls, peeps, mary janes, or something else not listed? Post your favorite in the comments. Thank you internet!

Code Monkey…

After listening to last weeks episode of TWIT (This Week In Tech) I simply fell i n love with the work of Jonathan Coulton. Check out some of his work in this YouTube video. That is all.

Get the Flock out of here…

I can post to my blog(s), Twitter, and Facebook without having to deal w/ each individual site on its own? Where do I sign up? Flock.com of course.

In case you didn’t interpret that correctly, I’m testing out a new browser known as Flock. So far its pretty cool. Everything is like integrated into the sidebar. I’ll keep you posted on whether it replaces my default Firefox or not. Maybe I’ll be more productive with this… meh.

So I was talking to my friend Joe today…

and he was telling me about how he doesn’t really do much anymore besides work. He told me “Yeah, I don’t really do much except maybe brush my teeth a whole lot.” He then went on to tell me about Crest Whitening strips and how the knock off CVS brand sucks. My friends are awesome.

Here is a picture that I drew of Joe.

Good lord… not sleeping for a long while (since yesterday @ 2PM makes me do dumb things).

Happy Leap Day!

What a nightmare…

I don’t understand why Monster.com won’t let you upload a resume as a PDF. I mean didn’t PDF just become an ISO standard? So far my morning consisted of reformatting my elegant resume into a Microsoft Word piece of crap. Hopefully employers know of this flaw and just visit my portfolio website instead. Oh the joys of web-based technology.

Episode 1 of Cooking with Geeks is Online!
